This book was put together, like the author couldn't decide where she wanted to go with the story. She preludes to the fact they are going to break up then don't. She keeps bringing up the loss of the baby in the oddest spots. Then she has a crazy character who you feel the author wants to be a villain, suddenly become the main characters best friend. There are more than a few plot holes. Several times in the book it wasn't quite clear who was speaking. Then the odd part where the main character makes up a huge lie, to get out of talking about her emotions, then she immediately comes clean. Very odd and unenjoyable. I will start with thing that I liked about the story. The hero and the heroine were faithful to each other. No smex with OP in this story. It was implied that they were each others one and onlys. However I read on a website a comment that both were with OP during one of their breakups in a related book. Since I did not read the other book and only want them to be with each other, I am going to pretend that I did not read that.Unfortunately there were more things that I disliked then liked about the story. They both acted immature despite being in their 20s. I felt like I was reading a romance book with hormonal misbehaving teenagers. They kept coming together to have smex and then pushing each other away. Apparently they did that since they were teenagers. It was usually the hero doing it. Something bad would happen to him and he would act out, being a bad boy. Then thinking he was not good enough for the heroine or wanting to protect her or for some other lame reason, he would push her away until he could not stay away from her anymore. In response the heroine would pine over him and drink too much and smoke too much and work too much. Then he would do it again. Such drama lama and tiring to read about and it made the story drag. I started skipping over pages.Also the hero, until the very end of the book, always put other people before the heroine. His sister was more important as well as his gang and what is worse is the heroine let him. She was a doormat that she was she just put up with it because she could not stay away from him. So sad.Also the book has them hooking up a lot. I would not mind but the smex scenes were passionless and lacking. All telling and no showing. The author should have just made this book a clean romance because those scenes added nothing to the story.
